VOLUNTEER!
The First Tee of Augusta depends on volunteers. We operate year-round and offer the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of capacities. As an example, if you have limited time we can use your help for two hours once a month and if you live for helping kids and playing golf we an use your assistance all day long every week! Volunteers are needed in the schools during the school year, on the range and on the golf course during the warmer months and in other areas too!
5 EASY STEPS to VOLUNTEER!
STEP 1:
Review our current list of Volunteer Opportunities (see back of this sheet) and think about what you would like to do. Some of our positions offer physically exhilarating opportunities such as playing/monitoring golf on the course, while others are mentally stimulating such as teaching life lessons on the driving range/course or in the classroom and others are support roles necessary to keep our program and facility operating smoothly. But we can tell you all of our positions will give you the emotional satisfaction of having worked and helped the youth of our community.

STEP 3:
Volunteers must attend Volunteer Orientation at The First Tee of Augusta that lasts approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. Orientation will help you familiarize yourself with the program and the opportunities for having an impact on a child. During this session you will meet other volunteers, learn the basics of the program so you can answer general questions from parents and you will gain an understanding of the code of conduct that the students must adhere to. In addition there might be additional training depending on the volunteer assignment that interests you.
STEP 4:
Complete a background screening. Before assuming a volunteer assignment all adult volunteers will need to successfully complete the background screening. We will forward you the instructions for completing your screening once you have completed the online Volunteer Application. It takes approximately 10 business days to receive the screening results.
STEP 5:
We will confirm you assignment and work with you to ensure that you are comfortable with your responsibilities. We welcome your questions and feedback about our training, orientation and your assignment. We want to ensure that you have a fulfilling volunteer experience at The First Tee of Augusta!
